REAL STORIES, REAL PROGRESS
Mark has been tutoring my child for over a year now and I can't express how much of a difference I see! Christian struggled with reading and writing his whole elementary career. He is now placed at the top or end of his classes for reading and he loves to write. He writes stories all the time. Mark really gave him the confidence he needed and still needs to succeed. Mark is also able to deal with some of his emotional needs. When Christian is having a really hard time and gets frustrated, he's able to pull him back in and able to get to refocus on a task. Mark is definitely there for the child. Christian was having a hard time with fractions, so Mark stopped at the reading for a second and focused on the fractions. He's really about doing what's best for the child. Christian doesn't feel defeated anymore, and it’s amazing to see as a parent.

When facing unexpected changes and new academic ground, our middle schooler can struggle to work through frustration and can become irritable, non-compliant, and even aggressive at times. When he started as Mark’s student, our son was performing below grade level and hated school. Mark was able to successfully teach by creating structure and consistency and maintaining a calm, quietly positive environment while gradually raising expectations. We have noticed a substantial increase in our son’s tolerance for change, willingness to try new tasks, and persistence. He now is working beyond grade level. Most importantly, the kid who dreaded going to school now happily enters and exits every day!

Mark has become a great asset to our son's academic progress. While he is 5, we felt it to be the best time to start developing his love of reading and regular school classes were focused more on the technicality as opposed to nurturing his reading curiosity and that's when we had found Mark. Through engaged play and activities, learning to read has shifted from being a chore to becoming a favored activity. As a secret benefit to us, the parents - Max's reading and writing are improving significantly just over a couple of months that they've worked together. Highly recommend Mark's tutoring services for those interested in fostering a love for literature and writing in their children.
